How do changes in national primary health care (PHC) policies impact different regions of Brazil?
A multicenter study analyzed regions of Rio de Janeiro and Paraná between 2017 and 2022. The results show convergence in the emphasis on the Family Health Strategy, but differences in the work process, team organization, and coverage reach.
The research reveals how local, regional, and intergovernmental factors shape the implementation of PHC and influence its possibilities within the Brazilian Unified Health System (SUS).
