This article analyzes the performance of dialysis centers in Minas Gerais in referring new dialysis patients for pre-transplant evaluation and placement on the waiting list between 2015 and 2019.
A total of 23,297 records of patients undergoing dialysis through the SUS were analyzed. Only 14.8% were enrolled on the waiting list, with a cumulative probability of 3.3% per year.
Individuals under 60 years of age were more likely to be enrolled and receive a transplant, while older adults, women, and residents of specific regions had less access.
The study highlighted regional inequities and the lack of positive impact of Ordinance No. 389/2014, which establishes guidelines to increase enrollment.
