🦷 How is specialized oral health care distributed in Brazil?
A study published in CSP analyzes the distribution of the 1,214 active Dental Specialty Centers (CEOs) in the country in 2023 and identifies significant regional inequalities. Although 82.44% of Brazilian health regions have at least one CEO, the provision of these services is still quite heterogeneous.
The Northeast stood out for its highest regional coverage (93.23%), while the North region presented the lowest percentages. The results also reveal that more socially vulnerable regions are less likely to have a CEO, but when they do have this service, they tend to concentrate a larger number of CEOs.
