Health, Environment, and Economy in the Amazon
Transformations in the social and forest landscapes of the Amazon are directly linked to choices for regional development. A case study in Mocajuba and Cametá (PA) mapped the Production Landscape Units (PLU), which represent ways of living and producing in the Amazonian agricultural sector.
The results show that peasant PLUs predominate in the region, highlighting the strong presence of these economic activities. This innovative approach integrates health, environment, and economy, broadening the debate on sustainable development strategies in the Brazilian Amazon.
