🤰 Teenage Pregnancy in Brazil: Where Are the Greatest Inequalities?
A study published in Cadernos de Saúde Pública and reported by *Outra Saúde* analyzed adolescent fertility rates in more than 5,500 Brazilian municipalities between 2020 and 2022 and examined their relationship with social deprivation, population size, and geographic region.
The results reveal that the highest adolescent fertility rates are concentrated in the North and Northeast regions, highlighting significant territorial inequalities in the country.
Also noteworthy are the 49,000 births among girls aged 10 to 14, an alarming figure from the perspective of rights, social protection, and public health.
