👵🏽👴🏻 How can we measure population aging beyond chronological age?
New research published in Cadernos de Saúde Pública used handgrip strength to estimate the so-called “relative age” of the Brazilian population and revealed regional inequalities in the aging process.
📊 The results show that residents of the North and Northeast regions experience faster functional aging than the national average. Among women in these regions, the difference between chronological and relative age can reach 9.3 years.
