Techno-productive, environmental, and epidemiological trajectories in the Amazon, Brazil: a path towards synthesis

New Thematic Supplement to CSP – Synthesis Trajectories: Relationships between Health and Environment in Contemporary Amazonia

The extreme drought of 2023 that struck the Amazon exposed the biome’s vulnerabilities, impacting rivers, soils, fauna, and local communities. Traditional production models persist, but lack incentives and recognition.

This new supplement to CSP presents the theoretical, methodological, and analytical results of the Trajectories Project, which adopts an interdisciplinary approach to integrate data and theories on the relationship between socio-environmental changes and health in the region.

With analyses from researchers at different Brazilian research institutions, the publication seeks to highlight scenarios and policies capable of balancing conservation, quality of life, and sustainable development.
