📄 A study analyzes access to social benefits for children with suspected Congenital Zika Syndrome (CZS) in Brazil between 2013 and 2021. The focus was on the lifetime pension (E60) and the Continuous Cash Transfer Program (BPC/E87).
📊 The granting of the BPC/E87 decreased over the period, with most cases concentrated in the Northeast until 2017. After 2018, the Southeast recorded similar numbers, but with fewer benefits granted.
🔍 In 2023, 689 children still had active E60 benefits, highlighting the importance of this support. With the expiration of Law No. 13,985/2020, new E60 grants ceased, leaving many children dependent on the BPC/E87.
